How to easily open an account with Beehive Money

This page will take you through the five steps to easily open your Beehive Money account so that you can start saving for the things that matter to you. You can open an account online using your desktop browser and then once you're set up, download our app so you can manage your account and set savings goals. 

Five simple steps

  1. Sign up with Beehive Money
  2. Verify your email address
  3. Complete your identity checks using a valid passport or photocard driving licence with our trusted partner, Onfido.
  4. Choose your savings account from our available range.
  5. Set your savings goal and make your initial deposit!

If you have opened a cash ISA or paid into a cash ISA with another provider in the current tax year you cannot open a new cash ISA with us until the following tax year which starts on 6th April.

Existing members

Previous Beehive or Nottingham Building Society members accessing their Beehive account for the first time will need to register. Simply enter your email address and unique security code that we emailed to you. If you can't find your security code you can request a new one here here.

How do I make an initial deposit into my Beehive Money account? arrow

To make your initial deposit to your new Beehive Money account, please set up and send the payment from your nominated bank account using the sort code 60-95-93 and your new Beehive account number found in the accounts section in the app or on desktop.

Why is my nominated bank account being rejected? arrow

The main reasons that your nominated bank account may be rejected are:

  • It’s held by a provider that isn’t recognised by our credit referencing agency. For example, Starling Bank is not recognised by our current credit referencing agency so you will have to use an alternative current account to link to your Beehive Money account if you bank with Starling. This may mean that we can’t accept all accounts and could result in us not being able to offer you a Beehive account.
  • You’re under 18 or have only just turned 18.
  • Your bank account has been recently opened or, it’s been open for more than 15 years.
  • Your joint account was previously a personal account, and the second person’s details were added later. Our credit referencing agency will only hold details for the original account holder. Please try connecting a different account.

Remember, your nominated bank account must also be:

  • A current personal or joint UK bank or building society account, not a business or a savings account.
  • Able to receive and make payments via the Faster Payments Services scheme.
Where is my sort code and account number? arrow

Once you have logged into your Beehive Money account, tap ‘Accounts’ and then click on the account you want to know the details for, and they’ll show on the next screen.

How long does it take for my deposit to show in my account? arrow

A deposit can take up to 24 hours to appear in your Beehive Money account.

What identification do I need to open a Beehive Money account? arrow

You will need UK Government recognised photographic ID such as an in-date passport or driving licence. We verify your identity using our trusted provider, Onfido.

My temporary password isn’t working arrow

When using your temporary password, make sure you’re not copying and pasting as this won’t be accepted.
